200t capacity Bollards now available at CNIC’s Industrial Base in Limbe

About one year ahead of the completion of works on the industrial phase of the Limbe Shipyard Project, the facility now has six (06) new 200 tonne capacity bollards with a diameter of 900mm each functionally available for mooring of rigs and carrying out Bollard Pull (BP) Tests.

It is useful to note that the minimum water depth in the sheltered area is around 13m. To complement the technical capabilities required for such tests, CNIC currently possesses a 50t load cell and awaits the imminent delivery of a 125t load cell with recording device and shackles.

The provision of these facilities in a zone with intensive offshore activities offers both tug boat owners and clients the vital possibility of improving on the safety and worthiness of such vessels
