PERENCO FRANCE brings “Soft Yoke” Buoy for Upgrade
A modern crude oil storage and logistics equipment owned by PERENCO FRANCE is currently undergoing servicing on CNIC’s 10 000T dock at the company’s main repairs site - Berth 17, in Douala.
The buoy-type equipment baptised “Soft Yoke”, previously on assignment in CONGO ( Brazzaville), was brought in early May 2007 for diverse upgrade works expected to last three months and to absorb an estimated 100 tonnes of steel.
These works entail the modification of the buoy’s structure to provide an 8 chain hose pipe, incorporate a 6” gas pipe into the Spider as well as increase the counter weight on the mooring arm.
The buoy will equally have a new pull-in guide fabricated and installed plus an upgrade of its universal joint, culminating with complete Surface Treatment works capable of sustaining the use of this equipment in offshore operations for a further 15 years (up to 2022) before its next major dry-dock servicing. |
