Construction Work Near Completion on PERENCO Gabon Offshore Unit

Construction works commenced on 12 th February 2007 at the CNIC/UIC base in Douala on the TRIPOD - a 30” Tubular structure that will be used to strengthen an existing 36” Monopod - will soon be completed.

The works which entail the construction of a 75T tubular structure; the prefabrication of 3 x 72 Ø 20” supporting piles (75T); fitting of supporting piles as well as lifting and installation at its offshore site have absorbed a specialized workforce of over 100 employees at different stages and required 150 tonnes of steel overall for the execution of envisaged works.

Upon completion, fixed for 30 th May 2007, the newly constructed offshore unit and supporting piles will be loaded unto a cargo barge for transportation to its offshore location where installation will be conducted with the aid of CNIC’s multi-purpose jack up crane barge code-named “Jup 111”.
