After eleven (11) months of comprehensive life extension works, the jack-up, TRIDENT XIV left CNIC’s repairs site at Berth 4 in Douala on Sunday, 18th November 2007 following completion of servicing.

Commenced on 4th January 2007, the life enhancement works comprised:

-          Grit blasting of tanks for a surface area of 17 000mē

-          Grit blasting and painting of haul over a surface area of 8000mē

-          Replacement of 700 tons of steel

-          Heavy lifting of the rig on the Fjjel Fairmount Barge to enable elaborate repairs of the Spud Cans

-          Piping and electrical works as well as painting of legs.

In addition to the successful execution of envisaged offshore works, another major achievement on the project remains the remarkable safety performances attained through out the duration of works.

In effect, after organizing two separate ceremonies to recognize the company’s safety record on the project at 700 000 and 1,5 million man-hours without Loss Time Injury (LTI), CNIC’s client held a similar ceremony at the end of works to commend the attainment of 2 million man-hours without LTI.
