SAFETY, SECURITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

The professional activities of CNIC/UIC cover a broad spectrum of industrial trades and activities such as Scaffolding, Sandblasting, Industrial Painting, Electrical works, Overhauling, Steelworks, Welding etc. Virtually all of these activities require not only a high degree of accuracy in the execution of assigned tasks but also entail extreme precaution and the strict respect of safety and security norms as a result of their delicate character.

CNIC/UIC devote enormous resources to the training and further training of its personnel in the areas of safety, security and environmental protection because it is aware that in its highly sensitive and internationally competitive activity of ship and oil rig repair, high quality work, accuracy and safety or security all constitute a sine qua non for sustainability and reliability.

For this purpose, CNIC/UIC maintains an effective, documented HSE management system conforming to international safety and statutory regulations. The General Manager of CNIC/UIC has the prime responsibility of enforcing the HSE organisation.

It is policy at CNIC/UIC to commence each assignment with safety precautions and consider the assignment satisfactorily completed only when all safety norms have been respected.

In order to underscore the importance of safety, security and environmental protection in our working culture, upon recruitment, all CNIC/UIC employees must undergo the HSE programme with periodic re-training and intensive follow-up courses for all staff of our technical departments. As per the CNIC/UIC safety manual, we maintain:

HSE programmes for all employees;

  • Permit to work systems;
  • PPE policy;
  • Emergency Procedures;
  • Accident or incident investigation and reporting;
  • Occupational health;
  • Environmental protection and waste management.
