History
The gestation and birth of the Cameroon Shipyard and Industrial Engineering Ltd. (CNIC) go back to the Maintenance Department of the former National Ports Authority.
In 1988, spurred by the vision to put an effective instrument at the service of the maritime and industrial sector, the Government created CNIC as an autonomous body charged with the mission to develop ship repair and oil rig rehabilitation activities in Cameroon and the sub-region.
Since this period, the remarkable growth recorded by CNIC over the last decade with a ten-fold increase in turnover that can be explained by several factors and most prominently:
- Its commitment to serve its clients in the Marine and Offshore repair and conversion market in the Gulf of Guinea ;
- Its high quality performances that have earned the confidence of its clientele;
- The exigency of fully assuming its status as off-cited example of industrial performance by State Authorities;
- A shrewd and proactive management that keeps personnel not only motivated, but focused and committed to excellence.
