COMMITMENT OF MANAGEMENT IN
THE EFFECTIVE
IMPLEMENTATION OF QHSE NORMS AT CNIC

STATEMENT OF UNDERTAKING
Security derives from the ability to anticipate and manage situations .
For the past few years, the professional landscape with regards to prevention has not stopped evolving. It is therefore not surprising to realize that the core activities of enterprises have been reorganized and revolve around values such as: Safety, Quality, Health, Hygiene and Environmental protection.
For this reason, issues of prevention feature henceforth in the managerial policies of companies. Thus, instead of the question “what shall we do if something goes wrong?” priority is now given to “what should we do so that nothing goes wrong?” Consequently, we must periodically revise our prevention policy which consists, above all, in identifying the hazards to which our personnel, the environment, project sites, material and equipment are exposed in order to apply appropriate preventive measures.
Today, no enterprise can survive without taking into account the living conditions, at work, of its personnel and its partners (Sub-contractors and suppliers) as well as the environment within which it operates.
Experience has demonstrated that the absence of prevention leads to accidents, causing human and material damages compounded by direct costs, production losses and the tarnishing of the image of the company. This requires that we demonstrate a sense of purpose, rigour and commitment.
I therefore regard the safety performances for each project or at each construction site as a yardstick of competence and as an indication of Management’s commitment to the attainment of targeted goals.
In this domain, we do not believe in attributing situations to fate. Safety concerns each and every employee. To this end, we are committed to:
ARTICLE 1
Take into account Safety measures, Hygiene, Health, Quality and Environment in each of our processes.
ARTICLE 2
Promote in all our projects an analysis of hazards related to the Safety & Health of personnel as well as the protection of the Environment.
ARTICLE 3
Understand and anticipate the needs of our customers and satisfy them through suitable solutions which protect the Environment. Safeguard communities and contribute to the development of all stakeholders.
ARTICLE 4
Respect all laws and industrial norms in force as regards Health, Hygiene, Safety, Quality and the Environment where ever we operate.
ARTICLE 5
Ensure a regular follow-up of our system of internal management relating to Safety, Hygiene, Health, Quality and Environment, and evaluate periodically in order to compare the results obtained to laid down objectives.
ARTICLE 6
Institute a plan of action defining progress objectives and organise controls based on investigation, concertation and training.
This commitment is policy initiated by Management. It is vital for the sustainable development of CNIC/UIC, its success and the achievement of objective ZERO ACCIDENT inscribed in the company’s corporate values.
