Shipyard Facilities

The development of the shipyard is planned over 3 Phases.

Phase 1 is viable on its own and would include the following facilities and equipment on the 45 hectare site at Limbe :

  • South Breakwater of 700 metres length
  • Quay of 400 metres for afloat works & Rig floating dock
  • Rig Floating dock of 36,000 tonnes lifting capacity
  • Floating dock for ships of 10,000 tonnes lifting capacity (To be transported from Douala)
  • Workshops for steelworks, pipe works, mechanical and electrical works
  • Lifting equipment
  • Utilities networks (power, compressed air & industrial gases, fire fighting, freshwater, HP & LP water, communication, lighting)
  • Slop and sludge treatment and disposal
  • Bunkering
  • Office facilities
  • Recreation & lodging

An Employee Housing scheme is also planned to be developed on a 75 ha site adjacent to the Limbe shipyard site.
