CNIC/UIC STAFF JOIN WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATIONS

Female employees of the CNIC/UIC corporate entity joined their gender across the country and beyond in celebrations to mark the 2007 edition of the International Women’s day on Thursday, 8 th March 2007.

Their participation in the colourful march pass at the “Place de l’UDEAC” Douala that witnessed the grand mobilisation of over three hundreds female associations, public and private sector workers as well as business groups came as a culmination of a series of topical “in-house” activities and discussions organized around the theme of the event: “Violence against women: Break the silence, Take actions”.

When approached to assess their participation in the public event, a CNIC lady commented:

“Over and beyond the relevance of this year’s theme to our professional environment, we hope our involment in activities and numerical strength will serve as further indication that the women are also succeeding in what is still considered by many as a mole- oriented activity (ship repair, rehabilitation and life extension of oil rigs). We also wish young female Cameroonians to know that CNIC/UIC is an equal opportunity employer and feel confident to apply whenever vacancies are announced.
