28 - April - 2003 2nd Financiers’ Round Table Conference on the Construction of Infrastructure for the Repair of Oil Rigs at Limbe

The conference started at 10.30 AM and was presided over by the Minister of Economic Affairs and Regional Development, Mr. Martin OKOUDA. Also present was the Minister of Transport Mr. John B. NDEH and other high-ranking Government officials. The Financiers' delegations were led by :

BAD : BAMORY TRAORE - Head of delegation
BID : SADIO WANDE DIARISSO -Head of delegation
BDEAC : Anicet G. DOLOGUELE - Head of delegation
ORET Fund : Martijn de GROOT - head of delegation

Minister Martin OKOUDA gave the keynote address welcoming all participants to the Round table conference. His 25 minutes long speech. dwelled largely on the importance government attaches to this project. On behalf of the Government of Cameroon, he praised all those who have relentlessly worked hard for this project from its initiation to its present stage, promising government's total collaboration to ensure its realization. He also outlined steps already taken by the government to this effect.

The financiers in response, after introducing members of their various delegations reiterated the commitment of their banks to the project.

The General Manager of CNIC, in a 20 minutes powerpoint presentation made a short briefing on the state of advancement of the project. He described the company's evolution since its creation, the constraints of its Douala site and the reasons for the choice of Limbe for the construction of the new infrastructure.

The Yaounde Round table ended with a dinner offered at the Hilton Hotel by the Minister of state for Economy and planning. Delegates departed for Douala at 4 PM.
