Batoke Community commends cnic for special Support and social amenities

In keeping with its established tradition as a community-friendly and people-oriented entity, the Cameroon Shipyard and Industrial Engineering Ltd (CNIC) undertook, within the framework of the Limbe Shipyard Project, not only to pay adequate compensation to the project-affected population but to even go beyond and lend the community special support to improve their living standards and promote development.

In this regard, CNIC recently put at the disposal of the BATOKE Community (village wherein the LSP quarry is situated) the sum of CFA 43 950 000 francs for various social amenities selected from their priorities by the beneficiaries.

During a ceremony organized on Tuesday, 26 th September 2006 to award scholarships worth CFA 3 610 000 francs to some 84 meritorious students from the BATOKE community, the traditional ruler of the village - Chief M.M.OTTO lauded CNIC for this gesture of support and solidarity (See Excerpts of Speech).
