09th - March - 2006 CNIC receives further recognition for excellence in Safety practices.

The Cameroon Oil Transportation Company S.A (COTCO) - a subsidiary of Exxon Mobil company - is the most recent establishment to have conferred on the Cameroon Shipyard and Industrial Engineering Ltd. a distinction for its high performances in the Safety domain.

While CNIC is no novice to distinctions and awards, during its close to two decades of existence, a certificate of recognition in a domain of activity notorious for its obsession with safety, quality and excellence can be likened to a new award conferred on a scholar whose academic merits are already established.

Similarly, while it is common knowledge that recognition has, at times, led laureats into complacency and subsequent oblivion, CNIC has remained aware that it must not rest on its laurels but view each award as a challenge to do even better.

Seen from this perspective, this new distinction can be considered as a logical outcome of CNIC's corporate commitment to safety, excellence and quality and the involvement of all CNIC's engineers and officials in ensuring the systematic implementation of safety and quality norms.

In the same vein, the imperatives of ensuring the best practices in safety management to conform to international standards make each distinction an exhortation to CNIC's Management to go another step in its efforts at consolidating excellence, safety and quality in all its tasks and assignments.
