18th - December - 2006 CNIC Management Lauds Performance Of Inter Beton
Although all six lots of the industrial component of the Limbe Shipyard Project are inter-dependent and crucial for the overall success of the project, it is nevertheless widely accepted that the construction of the Breakwater (Lot1) remains about the most technically challenging on several accounts.
It is for this reason that the Management of CNIC recently deemed it appropriate to congratulate the constructing firm- INTERBETON,AG for its performance in attaining a major milestone by consolidating the roundhead of the Breakwater at 704 meters.
During the ceremony organized on 18 December 2006 to mark the event, the General Manager of CNIC described it as a significant achievement, likening the structure of the 704 meters long encrachment into the Atlantic Ocean to a “gigantic trapezium” and compared its height from the sea bottom (where it is about 70 metres wide) to that of an eight storey building.
Speaking before a select audience including several personalities amongst whom the S.D.O for Fako, the Government Delegate to the Limbe Urban Council, the Chairperson and members of the LSP special Tenders Board Lead Consultant etc. The General Manager showed visible appreciation for INTERBETON AG whose Project manager- Mr. DE BOER he invited to provide further explanations on the execution of the job thus far.
