4th - April - 2006 Foreign military delegation visits CNIC's industrial sites.

A delegation from the Ghanian military command and staff Academy visited the Cameroon Shipyard and Industrial Engineering Ltd. on Tuesday, 4 April 2006. The delegation led by Brigadier General NKRUMAH - Deputy Commander of the Academy comprised several senior commissioned officers.

Presenting the delegation on behalf of its leader, Col. OSHIO, Director of the Academy’s naval Faculty explained that the delegation comprising nationals from other countries including Nigeria and the Gambia was in Cameroon as part of a four African nation tour to better acquaint themselves with the socio-cultural and economic potentials of these countries and explore ways of strengthening cooperation as a basis for promoting development.

The peculiarity of the visit was the interest shown by a military delegation in the activities of a civilian economic establishment like the Cameroon Shipyard and industrial Engineering Ltd. whose activities are not conducted in collaboration with any defense establisment or personnel.

Received upon arrival on behalf of the General Manager, at the company’s conference room, by Mr. FOKAM Zephyrin, Head of CNIC Marine Department , the delegation was conducted round CNIC operational facilities at Berth 17, the workshops and UIC base before a general question and answer working session at the conference hall.

At the end of their close to three-hour stay, Brigadier General NKRUMAH expressed appreciation for the warm reception and the informative explanations received from CNIC officials who conducted the delegation, noting that the guided tour of industrial facilities will remain amongst the positive souvenirs of their entire visit.
