21st - July - 2006 "CNIC to be regional reference centre of industrial technology in the domain of ship construction and repair" says National Chairman of CPDM.

Beyond and above an address to militants and statutory delegates of his party, the General policy address of the National President of the Cameroon Peoples’ Democratic Movement (CPDM) was, as could be deduced from its “ruling party” status, an opportunity to review Government’s achievements in the socio-political and economic domains as well as lay down the framework for future action.

While CNIC has had the honour of being recognized several times for outstanding performances as evidenced by frequent reference to the company, in the recent past, by the Head of State, it cannot down play the distinction of being cited once more. This time, in his capacity as National President of the CPDM, H. E. President Paul BIYA perceives CNIC as a regional reference centre of industrial technology in the domain of shipbuilding and repair. In his own words:

“… The Limbe Shipyard Project has the potential to become the regional shipbuilding pool…”

This anticipation-cum-confirmation of a regional role for CNIC coming, as it is, from the highest Authority of the State reveals that the conviction of Cameroonian public authorities about the international dimension and regional potential of the Limbe Shipyard Project has been a vital consideration in Goverment's commitment towards this project whose completion is scheduled for December 2007.
