Maiden oil rig received in Limbe Shipyard facility

Several months prior to the completion of construction works on the Limbe Shipyard Project, CNIC workers are currently carrying out necessary inspections to determine the exact scope of works to be performed on an oil rig that will certainly go on record as one of the first to be received in CNIC's Limbe facility.

Although CNIC has previously carried out several repair assignments in Limbe such as the "SEDCO 709" project, the pre-servicing inspections currently underway on “SEA DRILL” - a Singaporean oil rig coming for repairs from oil fields in Nigeria -  falls within a different context marked by on-going works on CNIC's oil rigs and ship repair infrastructure.

The "SEA DRIL” which arrived Limbe on 18th January 2007 for servicing and rehabilitation works to be carried out in CNIC’s Douala facility confirms earlier pronouncements by CNIC Management that before completion of works scheduled for early 2008, the Limbe oil rigs and ship repairs facility will be put into service as from April 2007 when it is expected to receive major petroleum exploitation equipment for servicing.
