OFFSHORE DEPARTMENT

Positioned at the heart of the Gulf of Guinea, CNIC's strategic location enable its Marine Department to provide a highly competent service to the Offshore Petroleum Industry based in the most exciting region of Africa. With competitive pricing, an emphasis on quality work and timely delivery, and its commitment to personnel safety and environmental standards, CNIC has also been able to garner a large international clientele for a wide range of Offshore projects.

Some of the repair and refurbishment projects undertaken include :

  • Repair and refurbishment of Mobile Offshore Drilling Units or MODUs (i.e. attending to structures, piping, accomodation quarters, painting, etc.);
  • Repair and rebuilding of drilling barges and jackup rigs;
  • Repair and refurbishment of distribution buoys;
  • Repair and rebuilding of accomodation and crane barges;
  • Dry docking and repairs to diving support vessels;
  • BOP flange repairs.
 

The Offshore Department's range of expertise include :

  • Onsite surveys carried out by CNIC engineers to help the client define the scope of works for repair projects;
  • Project engineering with computer-aided design facilities;
  • Dry docking on floating docks of 3500 T and 10,000 T lifting capacities;
  • Afloat repair services for barges and oïl rigs at Douala Port and limbe (Cap lomboh);
  • Surface treatment, and painting of hulls and enclosed spaces on barges and rigs;
  • Fabrication and machining of parts for client equipment including oilfield equipment;
  • Prefabrication and installation of major steel structures on oil rigs including blister tanks and modules;
  • Rebuilding of preexisting steel structures to international standards;
  • Rebuilding and repairs of ail piping systems including HP mud piping to international standards;
  • Maintenance work on mechanical and propulsive equipment such as thrusters and main engines;
  • Installation of major equipment (i.e. cranes and shale shakers) on barges and rigs;
  • Maintenance and installation of electrical equipment;
  • Overhaul and maintenance of dredging equipment;
  • Logistics, procurement, and materials management for repair projects;
  • Upgrading and extension of existing accomodation quarters (underdeck modules);
  • Flying squads that carry out major repairs and upgrades afloat & on site without affecting the commercial operations of rigs.
