The Interim General Manager has ordered a total clean-up of all company sites in Douala and Limbe in order to give the company a facelift.
Officials of Ets Ndoumbia C/O Céline El Khoury, who have been on the field for a couple of weeks, have succeeded in cleaning up the Petit Quai area and the UIC Quai site, enabling activities to resume there.
Debris from the docks that was initially dumped at "Stade" has been cleared, while the front view of the Head Office is being cleaned and decorated.
Concretely, the 1000 and 500-ton docks have now found a comfortable berth around the ex-UIC site thanks to the intervention of Ets Ndoumbia C/O Céline El Khoury, which cleaned up the area, thereby providing sufficient depth for the docks to anchor.
This exercise is coming after more than two decades. According to Djipoue Emmanuel, President of the Commission in charge of the project, the clean-up is necessary for the health, safety and environmental well-being of the Yard. "It will also increase our operational area and make us more credible in the eyes of customers."After the cleaning exercise, the Quai will be made available to the Agency and Transit Department for exploitation.
