Environment Ministry Intervenes in Dispute Between CNIC and SOCAPURSEL

The Ministry of Environment, Protection of Nature and Sustainable Development has stepped in to defuse tensions between CNIC and SOCAPURSEL over environmentally harmful activities. A delegation led by Mr. MANOU GODJE held a working session with CNIC officials, coordinated by Mrs. NDIKUM Emeranda, Head of the QHSE Department. Discussions focused on a complaint filed by CNIC regarding the continuous emission of sodium chloride vapors from the SOCAPURSEL site, which CNIC says is causing accelerated corrosion and progressive deterioration of its buildings and equipment. The meeting ended with a guided tour of both facilities.

Before departing, the delegation commended CNIC for its commitment to environmental, health and safety standards and pledged to ensure a swift resolution to the issue.
