After years of stalled relations, PERENCO Cameroon has signaled its return as a partner of the Cameroon National Shipyard and Industrial Engineering Ltd (CNIC). The General Manager of PERENCO Cameroon, Mr. Julien GRAS, was received at CNIC headquarters on September 22, 2026, by the Interim General Manager, Mr. WEBNJOH Abel BOBUIN, to explore a new partnership. Accompanied by his Business Advisor, Mr. Eric Tie Feng, Mr. GRAS announced that by January 2027, PERENCO will launch some activities at the Limbe Shipyard site.
Speaking to CNIC Info, Mr. WEBNJOH described PERENCO's return as a major boost for CNIC, particularly at a time when the institution is striving to reclaim its former prominence in the ship repair industry.
